Paisley: In Her Absence, I Bloom explores memory, lineage, grief, and becoming through layered sculptural floral forms.

The flowers are rooted in memories of the perennial gardens my mother planted around our childhood home. My signature five-layer flower represents my mother, my three sisters, and me, with the outer layer reflecting the way I remember my mother surrounding and protecting her daughters.

The work considers how identity continues to take shape in the presence of both memory and absence.
